After three fun-filled days, LFest concluded its seventh anniversary on Sunday with an unbeatable performance by headliner Toby on the festival’s Main Stage in front of a sold out crowd.

They were the icing on the cake to a weekend brimming with headliners and amazing emerging artists, comedy acts to split your sides, cabaret acts to mesmerise, a drag show to make you swoon, a kids den that makes this "LFester" wish she were eight again, a dog show (because who doesn’t love their four legged friend?) and adult workshops that the community have been screaming out for.

Cindy Edwards, Festival Founder and Director said of the weekend:

“The weather was challenging yet at every turn the fantastic LFest family rose to that challenge and put on the best event yet, and the headliners, well they were better than I could have ever imagined.

“LFest wouldn’t be what it is without such a fantastic audience so I’d like to thank everyone for joining us. I don’t think we could have made it any better but it’s what we will always aim to do! Here’s to many more years to come!”

Over 100 artists and bands performed across numerous stages and performance tents, with dozens of late-night DJ sets and a brilliant silent disco to round out each day. The audience were treated to a number of new and returning acts and workshops, and there was even a retreat where you could get pampered in a relaxed setting.

There was the welfare tent where festival goers and crew alike could go for some quiet time and have a confidential chat, yet another indication of LFests overwhelming desire to care for the LFest family from start to finish and beyond. The celebratory mood of the festival continued with a “Pirates and Mermaids” dress-up theme, while throughout the weekend, the LFest crew proudly sported the infamous green t-shirts and hoodies making them highly visible should help be needed.

LFest 2018: Embracing a Welsh Weekend!

Yes, that’s right - the 2018 edition of this award winning festival is headed to the lovely seaside location of Llandudno in North West Wales!

The event has previously been held in the Midlands over several venues, however the LFest team are totally embracing the move to Wales. Cindy Edwards first visited Llandudno in July and over many further visits she admits she's fallen in love with the town:

“It is perfect for our event, with the ideal event location of Bodafon farm but also the whole town lends itself to being a place our festival goers will visit time and time again”.

The LFest audience is so diverse - from those who are happy in a muddy field with wellingtons to those who like to stay in hotels - so with Llandudno and its many hotels, there really will be something for everyone! Guests who require additional facilities will be pleased to know that the site is totally accessible with ramps, accessible toilets and concrete paths to all areas of the festival.

Cindy and the team behind LFest Events intend to work closely with the town and surrounding businesses to create an additional boost to their tourism and really put Llandudno on the map as an LGBTQ friendly destination.

We are sure that LFesters will embrace the move to Wales and all that it brings as not only do the guests have a festival full of activities but they can have a seaside holiday at the same time!
