DIVA and OutNewsGlobal are looking for a talented staff writer to join the team
Twin Media Group are looking for a staff writer to work across DIVA magazine and OutNewsGlobal.
DIVA magazine is one of the most successful titles in LGBT media, delivering intelligent and innovative editorial content to its lesbian and bisexual readers for over two decades. Our various media platforms provide comment, news, politics, humour, reviews, information, scene coverage and entertainment to keep readers informed about all things lesbian and bi. All our platforms play a role in serving our diverse queer women's communities and we are particularly keen to develop closer ties with our readers through greater use of interactive features and social media.
OutNewsGlobal is our sister site, which launched last year and caters for the entire LGBT+ community. ONG covers everything from business and travel to arts and culture.
We're seeking a staff writer to work across both DIVA and ONG, as well as Twin Media’s various other projects. Your role will be to assist the editorial team, and you’ll be producing content for both websites as well as the magazine and its digital and social platforms.
As our staff writer, you will have exemplary writing and research skills, and a keen understanding of what makes a great story. You are flexible and work well under pressure, and never sacrifice accuracy in the name of speed. You’ll also have experience shooting still photographs and video, will be able to turn a social post into a viral hit, and due to the diverse aspects of this role, you'll be able to juggle a range of tasks without breaking a sweat.
You’ll have a passionate interest in inclusive lesbian and bi (cis and trans) culture that celebrates our community’s full diversity and be well acquainted with the ever-evolving scene. You are familiar with the DIVA brand and will be full of ideas for growing both DIVA and ONG.
Does this sound like you? Then send your CV, a cover letter and a 500 word blog on a topic you feel is relevant for the DIVA website, to Carrie Lyell at email@example.com. Please note this role is part time (21 hours a week), will be on a freelance basis, and involves working some evenings and weekends.
Applications close 24 July. Late applications will not be considered.
