Our cover stars this month have been personally chosen by guest editor, Phyll Opoku-Gyimah. These game-changing women illustrate unity, and the shoot, by photographer Elainea Emmott, is a powerful celebration of the creativity of women of colour in the UK. All of these women, in big ways and small, have achieved great things and have changed the face of their communities. All of these women, in big ways and small, are helping put women of colour front and centre in LGBTQ life.

THE MODEL AND ACTIVIST - MUNROE BERGDORF

“Once you crack the code of self, other people’s opinions on who THEY think you are lose their power. What matters most is what you think of yourself. Always. When faced with abuse, I just think to myself, ‘this says more about them than it does me’. So I’m going to live my life in the best way I know how and they can take or leave it. Either way, I’m good.”
