Ruby Rose opens up about her health in a series of stunning photos
"I'd rather put it out there"
Actor, presenter and DIVA cover star Ruby Rose has taken to social media to keep her fans updated about her ongoing health issues. She revealed that she's been suffering with back problems for the past ten years, confirming that she recently had an operation on her spine, which led to her temporarily using a wheelchair. Ruby explained that she wanted to let people know what was happening to avoid any speculation.
So..For the past few years (decade) I’ve been dealing with a spine issue. I am now recovering from a back procedure, but I do need to stay active, so before I get seen with my cane and wheel chair in public, I’d rather put it out there that I’m fine and going to be fine. pic.twitter.com/7nVw5fIk3k— Ruby Rose (@RubyRose) January 18, 2018
She also posted this gorgeous selfie with her girlfriend, Jess Origliasso from The Veronicas. #RelationshipGoals #PyjamaGoals
We're happy to hear that Ruby's making steady progress in her recovery.
And that she managed to find a suitably stylish cane.
In another health-related post, Ruby announced that she’s "finally" given up smoking, for her “back (and mum)”.
On the plus side guess who had to quit smoking !!!!! YAY!!!! Im done ! I’m finally done.. that filthy, smelly, dirty, slowly killing you while you pay for it to suffocate you, is finally out of my life. I quit yesterday. And for my back ( and Mum ) I’ll never start again. 🚭🚭🚭— Ruby Rose (@RubyRose) January 19, 2018
She’s on the hunt for boxsets to binge on and books to get lost in during her recovery period, so why not tweet her your recommendations @rubyrose?
What I need to know now is when I’m not wheeling around LA like a 102 year old, what movies, shows, books and video games do you suggest... I’m buying a switch.. I’m looking at you @chrissyteigen what games should I get?— Ruby Rose (@RubyRose) January 18, 2018
It’s refreshing to see such a high profile celebrity being so open and honest about their health struggles.
