Denise Welch gets on board with naked rowers

Warwick Rowers to teach acting legend Denise how to row for Sports Allies charity

Published:

The Warwick Rowers, famous for their annual naked calendar, offered to teach the Loose Women legend and long-time supporter of LGBT causes in a special charity session. The calendar raises money for Sport Allies, a charity helping to end homophobia in sport and make sport more inclusive. Denise flagged her interest in the calendar earlier this week, describing the rowers as "hot to trot".

She then tweeted: “I've been asked to go rowing by @warwick_rowers but not sure it's my thing. Thoughts??”

The rowers replied: “I'm sure we can try to teach you if you come to Warwick!”

Denise seemed persuaded, replying: “After almost BEGGING me to hold their oars, I've relented. I will be going rowing with the boys!"

An insider said: “Denise has accepted the challenge and is preparing for her first ever rowing lesson with the boys in Warwick. It is all for a great cause and everyone is looking forward to seeing her in action.”

Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s Holly Johnson, actor Charlie Condou, singer Duncan James and actress Sally Lindsay have all tweeted their excitement for the new Warwick Rowers merchandise, which launches officially later this month. The 2018 calendar, coffee table book and films are available to buy here.
