Looking for something to do in London this week?

La Soirée is joyous, celebratory, hilarious ...and deliciously mischievous 🎪

“Describe La Soirée in one word”, my friend asked after an evening spent at the Olivier Award-winning show earlier this week. “Just… wow” was about as intelligent an answer as I could muster.

Running at the Aldwych Theatre, La Soirée really is a theatrical phenomenon. Made up of unique, inspirational (and that little bit naughty) live entertainment, La Soirée describes itself as a “heady cocktail of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety which is more potent than ever!” - and I’d have to agree.

Featuring an ever-changing line up of internationally acclaimed artists, no one performance is quite the same. From an aerialist extraordinaire, slapstick duos, hula-hooping madness to the death defying art of the Russian Cradle (which is just about as terrifyingly transfixing as it sounds - Google it immediately), it really is impossible to take your eyes of the stage, or pick your jaw up off the floor.

With La Soirée, you can never be sure exactly what to expect on the night, except that it will live up to its reputation as joyous, celebratory, hilarious, cheeky, irreverent and, at times, quite saucy and slightly twisted - but in the best possible way. You might even find yourself Googling "adult circus skills" on the tube ride home. (Really).

So you're in, but you want to take the kids along? Check out La Petite Soirée, with all the spirit of La Soirée, but with “less of the sauce”, La Petite Soirée is suitable for everyone from ages eight to 80. Perfect for a mid-week, mid-winter pick me up.
