“This partnership demonstrates Capital Law’s continued support of the Iris Prize and wider film and TV industries.”

The Iris Prize is one of the most prestigious LGBT short film awards in the world and the organisers have just made an exciting announcement. They have entered a new partnership with Capital Law to support the annual LGBT film festival’s film industry conference, the Producers’ Forum.

This partnership expands on Capital Law’s previous support of the event, which this year takes place in Cardiff on Friday 13 October. As part of this partnership, the Producers’ Forum will be hosted by Nick de Figueiredo, solicitor at Capital Law, and Fiona Peet, media advisor at Capital Law, will chair a session.

Nick de Figueiredo told us:

“We are thrilled to continue our support of the Iris Prize Festival and welcome the opportunity to work with Iris and its filmmakers through the Producers’ Forum. Although the legal aspects of filmmaking are arguably some of the least glamorous, getting them right is essential for a successful production. We look forward to working with Iris and the Producers’ Forum to help equip emerging filmmakers with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.”

“As a firm we are also committed to Diversity and Inclusion and are keen to build community partnerships which uphold these ideals. Partnering with Iris demonstrates this perfectly and we are very excited to work with the Festival in the lead up to October and beyond.”

Iris Prize Chair Andrew Pierce added:

“We are delighted to welcome Capital Law as a new partner for the Producers’ Forum. I know they have been attending the event for a few years now, so this is a natural development. This relationship also extends beyond the Producers’ Forum and includes the Iris Prize Festival and we look forward to launching the 2017 programme in Capital Law’s Cardiff offices on 1 September.”

Over the coming months, the festival team will be revealing the panellists featuring at the Producers Forum event. The first of these includes Ben Roberts, Director of the BFI Film Fund, in conversation with Andrew Smith of Pinewood Studios.
