LGBTQ celebs, campaigners and allies gathered at London’s Ivy Club last night for the launch of the 2017 European Diversity Awards. This prestigious annual event celebrates diversity with categories including Charity Of The Year, Campaigner Of The Year and Inspirational Role Model Of The Year.

The recipient of last year’s Role Model Of The Year award, Vicky Beeching, gave a brilliant keynote speech to the crowd. The DIVA columnist and theologian spoke from the heart about the need for diverse role models in the workplace. She urged the audience to “create [their] own domino effect” and make a difference to other people’s lives.

Other guests included two DIVA 250 Ally Award nominees - actress and presenter Denise Welch and singer and TV personality Sinitta.

DIVA 250 Rising Star Award nominee and star of the new lesbian web series Different For Girls, Victoria Broom, was also there to celebrate the occasion.

The nominations for the 2017 EDAs are now open. Don’t forget to make yours here.
