Host, The L Word's Rachel Shelley, told DIVA: “If you thought last year’s inaugural DIVA Awards were spectacularly great, just wait till you see this year’s! I’m thrilled to have the honour of hosting this amazing party again, and celebrating with all who take pride in #TeamDIVA.”

Big awards up for grabs include Entertainment Personality of the Year and Inspirational Role Model of the Year, as well as the coveted Ally accolade, which was picked up by former Loose Women presenter Denise Welch in 2017.

Magazine publisher and DIVA Awards founder, Linda Riley, said: “The DIVA Awards are now ranked amongst the most important annual celebrations for LGBT people in the UK, celebrating gay and bisexual role models and straight allies.

"This year’s is set to be the biggest yet. I urge the public to nominate to make sure their favourite personality doesn’t miss out on the shortlist.”

Former DIVA Award winner, Denise Welch, added: “The DIVA Awards is always a great night. I’m really looking forward to it. I urge the public to take part and nominate!”

The awards show, sponsored by Heathrow Airport, will take place on 8 June at London’s Waldorf Hotel.
