This Week On Radio DIVA: Different For Girls And Jake Graf

Plus Heather Peace, Rosie Wilby and a queer pop history lesson.

Different For Girls

It’s time to get excited for tomorrow’s Radio DIVA because our awesome hosts Rosie Wilby and Heather Peace have another brilliant show lined up for your pleasure.

Director Campbell X and producer Fizz Milton will be in the studio chatting about their amazing new LGBT web series Different For Girls, ahead of its sold out screening at BFI Flare.

They told us, “We are delighted to be on Radio DIVA to have the opportunity to talk about our brilliant cast and crew and music and post houses with our favourite audiences and to share information about LGBT collaborative creativity and how our Thunderclap is going brilliantly.”

Here's the trailer to give you a taste of what's in store. And don't forget, you can buy the latest issue of DIVA here to read even more about this slick new series.

Also on the show, Rachel Shelley interviews award-winning writer, director and actor Jake Graf.

Plus revered music journalist Martin Aston will be revealing all about his new book on the queer history of pop. In particular, he’ll be discussing lesbian and bi pop pioneers like Beth Ditto and KD Lang.

He told us:

“I'm really excited to be talking about my book on the show. Not least because I can spotlight many of the lesbian pioneers of popular music, who have lost out because all the books written on the subject of LGBT+ and popular music have almost exclusively written about gay men, following the commonly accepted narrative of popular music history. But women have fought just as hard against the closet, and to be heard. So it's their turn now.”

And to top it all off, Fiona Marshall, the fantastic organiser of the upcoming DIVA 250 Readers Award event will be spilling the beans on what we can expect on the big night. If you haven’t already got your ticket, you can buy it here now.

You can listen live to Radio DIVA at 6.30pm every Tuesday (104.4FM and DAB in London and online at or catch up anytime at
