That's right Radio DIVA lovelies, it's the DIVA Awards this Friday 8 June!

Celebrating the biggest awards night for lez/bi and queer women in the realm, Radio DIVA will be inviting DIVA Publisher Linda Riley into the studio!

Linda will be joined by DIVA Awards host and Marcella actor, Victoria Broom, who's also shortlisted for this year's Rising Star Award, MP for Livingston Hannah Bardell, who's shortlisted for the Politician Award, and author Kiki Archer, shortlisted for the DIVA Author Award.

"To be part of the biggest sit-down black-tie dinner for LBT women and their allies that the UK has ever seen is such an overwhelming honour," Kiki Archer told DIVA.

"It is also incredibly exciting! In fact, I think I need to start getting ready now. Cue hair, dress, make-up and high heel prep."

Hannah Bardell, MP for Livingstone, told DIVA: “It’s an honour to be nominated and shortlisted for DIVA’s politician of the year.

"Thankfully, we are now in the position where we have many people in politics and public life that are openly LGBTQ, but I stand on the shoulders of those who came out at a time when being gay was illegal and could cost someone their livelihood and career.

"Although we have come a long way there’s still much to do in the quest for LGBTQ equality both here and abroad," she continued.

"I’ll continue to use my voice and role in whatever way I can to fight for that equality. DIVA is one of my favourite publications and the work the team and leadership do to promote LGBTQ rights is vital, I’m hugely proud just to be nominated!”

Continuing the theme, Radio DIVA's roving reporter and DIVA Awards host, Rachel Shelley, has a special Award-themed report this week (tune in to hear more...)

On top of a whole bunch of DIVA Awards-shaped excitement, The L Word's favourite US-based rockers, BETTY, will be beaming over their recent interview with lifelong New Yorker and Sex In The City star, Cynthia Nixon, all the way from New York city.

And of course, our most fabulous lesbro, Jonathan Phang, will be ready to update us on all the latest LGBT+ news from OutNews Global.

Make sure you tune in this Tuesday!

Listen live to Radio DIVA at 6.30pm every Tuesday (on Resonance 104.4FM and DAB in London and online at player.resonancefm.com) or catch up anytime at mixcloud.com/resonance πŸŽΆβ€‹
