Trump just announced that transgender people are no longer allowed to serve in the US military
The POTUS tweeted that the military “cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption.”
Donald Trump has posted a series of tweets announcing a ban on transgender people serving in the U.S. military.

....victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 26, 2017
This decision is a reversal of the policy introduced a year ago under Obama, in which the Pentagon ended its ban on transgender people serving openly in the military.
The news comes despite Trump’s previous claims that he supports LGBT rights.
Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 14, 2016
Since he became POTUS, Trump has rescinded guidance stating public schools should allow transgender students to use their preferred bathrooms and now he has reinstated the military ban.
