We at DIVA are huge fans of the Lesbian & Gay Foundation's
fantastic awareness campaign, Are You Ready For Your Screen Test?,
which launched earlier this year.
To find out more about cervical screening and why it's important
for lesbians and bi women to be screened, visit www.lgf.org.uk/screening
and download the funny, informative booklet.
And if you live in the North West, take part in the LGF's short
online survey, and you could win a range of fantastic prizes in
return for sharing your opinion of the campaign and experience of
cervical screening.
All you have to do is answer a short survey to be in with winning
one of these amazing prizes:
- A £500 holiday voucher
- A Spa Day for two
- A £150 Shopping Spree
- A Nintendo Wii
To fill in the survey, visit www.lgf.org.uk/screeningsurvey2.
The LGF is also looking for lesbian and bisexual women aged 25
and over who live in the North West to take part in a short focus
group about the campaign.
Participants will receive £20 to cover their travel and expenses.
Everyone is welcome, but researchers are particularly interested in
hearing from women who have had a cervical screening test (or plan
to have one) as a result of seeing the campaign, or who feel more
confident and informed as a result of the campaign.
Or, perhaps you've seen the campaign but still don't want to go
for a test? Whatever your story - they want to hear it!
The focus group will take place in the evening on Thursday 26 May
at the Lesbian & Gay Foundation, Manchester. If you are
interested in attending, contact Emma Coleman at the University of
Salford at e.c.coleman@edu.salford.ac.uk
to confirm your place.
