The Canadian duo Tegan and Sara are currently on a tour to
promote their new album, due for release in January next year. In
case you've been under a stone for the last few years, they write,
sing and play guitar, to name a few of their talents. Plus they're
out and proud twins.
After their recent performance at Annette Strauss Square in
Dallas, they are set to come to the UK on October 26 for their
first UK tour date at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in
Glasgow.
But fans may note a change in their up-coming album. Since their
last album Sainthood released in 2009, Tegan and Sara have been
hard at work developing a new, fresh sound. With lyrics about
heartache and love, their new album is sure to be another
hit. Taking this new album in a different direction with
songs like the distinctive "Walking With A Ghost," their new songs
are a bit more like dance tracks.
The new track Closer is out now and available to download. Sara
says the song is her "let's get it on" kind of track, whilst Tegan
sees it differently, describing it as "sweet" and redolent of a
"time before sex, complicated relationships, drama and
heartbreak".
They will wind up their UK tour on the 16\17 November at the O2
Arena in London.

In other news, with a reward of £40 million to marry the
daughter of the billionaire Cecil Chao, you would think men would
be queuing up to get their hands on the money.
The main problem (aside from, ahem, offering money to marry off
your daughter) is that Cecil's daughter is a lesbian.
Adamant that daughter Gigi is "not really gay," Mr Chao appears
to be sticking to his guns depsite Gigi's protestations.
But one man who has stepped forward is Sacha Baron Cohen.
Not for the dowry money you understand, but for what he sees as a
great film opportunity.
The aptly titled movie, The Lesbian, will be produced by
Paramount. With films like The Dictator and the famous Borat
under his belt, Baron-Cohen has seen a potential story in Cecil
Chao and his daughter Gigi.
With The Dictator grossing £109 million, The Lesbian will no
doubt bring Cohen more than the £40 million dowry, and Gigi will
probably happily remain in her civil partnership. Considering Chao
wanted to disguise his daughter's sexuality, it is fair to say it
has completely backfired.
