News just in! Following the success of her summer festival
appearances and tour earlier this year, actress and musician
Heather Peace has announced that she will set out on a mini-tour
this winter.
The Lip Service star (and two-time DIVA cover star, we hasten to
remind you) will perform an intimate set at The Glee Clubs in
Birmingham (14 November), Nottingham (15 November) and Oxford (16
November). She will then be joined by her full band (Lisa Tring
-drums, Sara Farina - bass/ vox and Kelly Appleton - guitar) for
her final show of 2011 at London's Union Chapel on Monday 28
November.
"This has been an incredible year for me," Heather said. "I've
gone from playing to a few mates 18 months ago, to playing to
thousands of people right through the spring and summer. I'm
looking forward to returning to the intimacy of small audiences for
the Glee Club shows and then I'm incredibly excited about rounding
off the year at the Union Chapel because it's been a dream for me
to play that venue."
Heather tends to select up and coming female artists to play
before her at her gigs (I'm sure there is a technical term for
this!) as a way of offering a hand up to other women in the
industry. Past support acts have included Lexie Green, Jill
Jackson, Amity and Midas Fall; this time it will be the turn of
Brighton's own Jade Hopcroft. Jade will open the show at Union
Chapel. We're told that her "distinctive vocal style and haunting
harmonies" have been getting her noticed recently, so it sounds
like she is one to watch. Info here at her
Facebook page
A little reminder, also, that Heather's debut album Sabotage,
produced by the Oscar-nominated Nigel Wright is due for release in
spring 2012. Don't know about you, but we are looking forward to
this!
