Are you a queer writer? Can you write a good script, poem or
story that you would love to see published? Independent publishers,
Little Episodes, would like to hear from you. Their latest mission,
Queer Episodes, will be an anthology of queer-themed writing.
Queer Episodes is a project that celebrates LGBT identity and
what it means. The book will give new writers their own podium from
which to make their voices and feelings heard.
Little Episodes is an arts production company and are a
non-profit organisation that cover a wide variety of artists, from
musicians to performers. Well-known author Melvin Burgess (Junk) to
Sadie Frost (actress) and Adam Ant (musician) have all been
involved with the organisation and your writing could appear next
to similar names.
Having had plays commissioned, theatre performances, all mixed
with poetry and music Little Episodes helps to raise awareness on
issues from depression to drug addiction, and fighting for LGBT
equality.
Lucie Barat (the organisation's founder) says:"Queer Episodes
will be an anthology of poetry and short stories/pieces of writing
celebrating identity and also providing empathy and encouragement
for those who are struggling with their sexuality…[And once
published] books will be available via the Little Episodes site and
through all good book stores. We're aiming for mainstream
distribution. We're supported by Little Brown Book Group, the
biggest publisher in Europe."
"Little Episodes leads with the by-line Arts Against Apathy. We
believe nothing will change unless everyone finds their voice, in
whatever guise, to fight the wrongs within our society." So make
your voice heard and get writing."
The Albert Kennedy Trust, a charity that helps young, homeless
LGBT people, will receive a percentage of the sales from the book.
The book launch will include a play, poetry performances and bands
at Madame JoJo's (London) on 11 April 2013.
