We were thrilled to hear, last week, that one of our favourite
lesbian films, I Can't Think Straight, is being made into a
brand new series for the web. But it's not the only webseries
out there with a lesbian audience in mind, so we've rounded up some
of the hottest lesbian webseries on the net at the moment.
GIRL/GIRL SCENE
What is it?
Written by and starring Tucky Williams, Girl/Girl Scene follows
the lives of a group of lesbians living in the Midwest. Williams
plays Evan, a Shane-esque lothario who likes to love 'em and leave
'em and gets herself into the inevitable scrapes that precipitates.
The series boasts a cast of veritable beauties including Maxine
(Katie Stewart) - a drug-fuelled party girl with a self-destructive
stream wider than the Mississippi; Jessie (Joe Elswick), who at
sweet 16 has a less-than-sweet temper; Trista (Roni Jonah) a fiery
redhead who makes Tyra Banks look calm and collected and Elliott
(Jackson Cofer), your average-Joe trans-boi next-door.

When is it released?
They're currently wrapping season one and are planning ahead for
season two. The first seven episodes are available to watch online
now.
Is it any good?
By the sounds of it, these ladies (and gent) make Jenny Schecter
look like she was playing with a full deck. There's lots of sex,
lots of attractive women and lots of complications. Girl/Girl Scene
won the award for the Best Screenplay at the World Independent Film
Expo 2010 so they must be doing something right.
THE NEW TOWN GIRLS
What is it?
New Town Girls (pictured) is a 10-part web "dramedy"
set on the queer scene of the New Town suburb of Sydney. The series
follows the exploits of Scarlet (Debra Ades) through a documentary
style narrative as she returns to the gay-scene after a hiatus and
is confronted by the usual dramas of unwanted sapphic attention,
jealous ex-girlfriends and her complicated relationship with her
best-friend and soul mate Alex (played by the impossibly cute Renee
Lim).

When is it released?
They've just wrapped the complete first series and are gearing
up to release it online soon…
Is it any good?
New Town Girls doesn't claim to be hard-hitting nor politically
minded - it's just the story of a girl who loves a girl, and how
she gets that girl. The fact that they're all mega-babes doesn't
hurt either... It's like a gay Home and Away minus all the
shirtless men. We can't wait to see it.
REAL L GIRLS UK
What is it?
This is a UK webseries that follows the lives of seven lesbians
who really 'represent' what it's like to be a lesbian in the
UK.
Where can you watch it?
Well, it hasn't actually launched yet, so you can only follow
the progress of this fledgling series through Twitter
@TheRealLGirls and Facebook at present.
When is it released?
The series trailer is due for imminent release.
Is it any good?
It's hard to say without having seen anything! Initial buzz
sounds good and includes stories from a Muslim lesbian as well as
black lesbians, but the promo shots look like something Paris
Hilton would have turned out for the Simple Life.
THE SLOPE
What is it?
With the tagline "superficial, homophobic lesbians", The Slope
is a comedy webseries that pokes fun at the nuances of life as a
same-sex couple, and is centred around Desree and Ingrid, a lesbian
couple negotiating the power-dynamics of their relationship in the
Park Slope area of Brooklyn.

Is it any good?
Funny, sassy and smart, this comedy webseries is an absolute
treat.
