Scroll down to watch a short video in which the team behind Pickering describe their film and explain how you can help them to get it made.

They say: "Pickering tells the story of Sarah, pretty and perfect, who meets tomboy Ellen and experiences her first real crush. But what does this mean for Sarah and her gender identity? And will her intense feelings be revealed?

"Tackling powerful themes of self-confidence, identity and acceptance writer/director Alix Eve has created a story to challenge preconceptions and highlight issues that will resonate with everyone."

The team will be shooting Pickering mid-December in West London and Buckinghamshire and the film will be completed in January 2013.

You can help to raise the £4000 they need to finish the film via crowdfunding site, Sponsume. Click here to find out more and make a donation. The money will go towards production expenses such as filming licenses, insurance and equipment, as well as making sure the set is a comfortable working environment for the cast and crew, who are all working at a discounted or expenses-only rate.

The film will be submitted to a number of festivals, including the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
