Video: black queer film in the UK

DIVA film ed Campbell X discusses the rise of black queer cinema on C4 News

With the 26th London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in full swing at the BFI Southbank this week, DIVA's film reviews editor, Campbell X, spoke to Channel 4 News about her new film, Stud Life. Scroll down for video!

Stud Life, which premieres tomorrow night at the festival, is a lesbian romance set in east London and looks at what happens to your friendships when a new love comes on the scene. DIVA caught a sneak peek recently and we loved it's funny, warm-hearted and authentic portrayal of queer love: the kind you have for your lover and the kind you have for your friends...

Also showing at the festival and mentioned in the C4 report are the American movie musical Leave It On The Floor, which is set on the African American gay ballroom scene made famous by Madonna's single Vogue, and Pariah, a brilliant and moving coming-of-age story about a young lesbian's struggle to define her own identity.
