I'M IN THE MOOD FOR SHALLOW ADVICE
You wouldn't go to your local greengrocer's and ask for protection
from online identity theft, would you? You wouldn't pop to the
sexual health clinic and expect to walk out with a bunch of grapes,
would you? (Hmm, come to think of it…) So why would you ask Colleen
Nolan for advice on your lesbianity? Or, indeed, on anything? This
is a woman whose career peaked 30 years ago with an excruciatingly
annoying disco track - and whose recent cultural contributions
include countless, unforgivable hours of twaddle on ITV's Loose
Women - "real men don't cry" - and managing to make Dancing On Ice
even more crap. A feat which most would have said was
impossible.
Well, one young woman clearly seems to think Colleen has all the
answers, and wrote in to her for some girly advice. Colleen, what
should I do about my lesbian lover who keeps messing me about, she
asked. Well, said sagely Colleen: "The fact, is you've already
given her enough chances and unfortunately this woman has used you.
I think if you take her back, she'll just keep doing it." It's not
bad advice really. It's rather dull, but props to the Mirror for
including lesbos and that. If you want my advice though, you
probably need advice if you take advice from Colleen Nolan...

BROTHERLY BIGOTRY
Ooh, well fancy this: turns out that the leader of the
opposition in Australia has a lesbian sister. And this is
significant because..? Well, said leader, Tony Abbott, is not
exactly what you'd call homo-friendly, as evidenced by his
opposition to gay marriage equality. So he's been left in the
rather shameful position of arguing that his own sister shouldn't
enjoy the same rights that he does. And it seems sis has been
trying to change his mind in "spirited discussions". Wonder if mum
and dad have had to step in yet? Be interesting to see how this one
plays out…

ARE YOU IN THERE LUV?
Bisexual pop princess Jessie J released her video for Laserlight
on Monday, earning her mixed feedback. Fans tweeted the star to
say, ever so politely, that her new video was a bit, well… fake.
One fan tweeted: ""Not going to lie @jessiejofficial I don't really
like the laserlight vid, I can speak for a lot of heartbeats we
don't really think its 'you'".
"And what's 'me'?", asked Jessie, "Different is good, change is
normal, growth is important."
When fans suggested she was being a bit defensive, Jessie
responded with: "I was asking genuinely. Why is everything made
into a HUGE thing. I respect everyones opinion ut I will always do
what I love. Doesn't mean everyone is going to like it. Life isn't
like that. But I am me. Always me. :)" (Groan at the grammar, but
smile at the sentiment.)
And that's why we love you, Jessie, you big mouthed, big voiced
big lipstick fashion-fiend. What do you make of the video though,
folks?
