VIDEO: Shit straight girls say to lesbians!

"You don't even LOOK like a lesbian!" Yep we've heard'em all. Welcome to the latest lez parody YouTube hit

Wed, 11 Jan 2012 08:30:32 GMT | Updated 1 years today

"Oh you look nice! Not like that!"

"Oh my god, you wore heels!"

"What exactly do you, er do, you know, for sex?"

"There's a lesbian at work actually, do you know her?"

Yep we've all heard them. The well-meaning but slightly wrong-headed comments made by some of the straight girls in (and outside of) our lives. Not the cool ones, obvs! But maybe the straight girls at work or our sisters, or whatever.

So we thought we had to share this Brit lesbo addition to the many, many "Shit XXX say" parodies out there. Made by northern singer-songwriter Laura Catlow who has clearly had her fill of dumb heterosexist, gender-normative attitudes, this one had us nodding in mournful recognition in the office.

It's not a diss on straight girls, natch, cause its not like most of the comments are lesbophobic, at least MOST of them aren't. They're just a bit dim. Oh and by the way just because you're gay doesn't mean you fancy us, do you? do you?"

Whoever wrote this article needs a good hard knock to the head, or perhaps they've already had one hence how AWFUL it is. Perhaps you should rename this piece "SHIT LESBIANS SAY ABOUT STRAIGHT GIRLS." Don't categorise straight girls/straight boys and don’t make fucking sweeping statements about them being dim. This video has cleverly and aptly highlighted some things that people say to the LGBT community, stop being bias and perpetuating the situation with crap journalism. It's just so childish?! I'm shocked by it. This is the exact reason I stopped buying diva.

@Elizabeth, it doesn't call straight girls dim, it calls some of the comments she makes dim. Not her, not all straight girls, but the comments are dim. Which they often are . Maybe you should read it properly: "It's not a diss on straight girls, natch, cause its not like most of the comments are lesbophobic, at least MOST of them aren't. They're just a bit dim"

I love all of those comments because i have heard every single one of them! :) lol I shouldnt laugh i know, i mean that is so gay. "Oh im sorry." haha Not every straight girl says those things but a few i know have, and although i dont get offended usually, privately i do laugh. "Who is the man is your relationship, is the most ridiculous." Its like, no one is that is the point. And the girl doing all the comments is really funny and dead on with her delivery.

I think this is great. I found it posted on Facebook and shared it with all my friends, both gay and straight! @Elizabeth this isn't implying straight girls are dim or stupid, only that what they say lack thought! We've all had these things said to us by straight girls and my male gay friends have had the same from straight guys! You must be VERY lucky if you have had these things said to you! Mickie
