3. Edinburgh

There are a whole host of Olympic 2012 events being shown on Scotland's only Live Site, the BBC Big Screen in Edinburgh's Festival Square, over the next few weeks. Accompanying this are many sports taster sessions on the astro-turf. Cadbury will also be on hand in its role as official treat provider to the Games, with more activities and treats for those who take part. The coverage will include a fly past of the Red Arrows over Edinburgh, to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday (July 27).

4. Birmingham

The BBC Big Screens in Birmingham's Victoria Square have been transformed into a Live Site with seating, bunting and marquees - making them the place to go to gather together and watch live coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Pre-show coverage of 2012 Olympic opening ceremony starts at
8pm. Opening ceremony broadcast starts at 9pm with the broadcast end taking place at midnight.

5. Brighton

Brighton's Big Screen will be bringing a 100 square ft LED screen to the seafront from 27 July to 12 August 2012 from 10am - 10pm, to broadcast live coverage of the Games plus a selection of free blockbuster movies. The audience will also be able to take advantage of the fully licensed beach bar with sheltered and outdoor seating to enjoy the best action from the Games and over 20 FREE movies from 'Dusk till Dawn'.

Opening Ceremony: Brighton's Big Screen organisers Murray Media and BohoGreen will be hosting a free launch party on the 27 July from 7pm, bringing the excitement of the Games to their very own London by the Sea, where the opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Brighton & Hove seafront, next to the West Pier, opposite the Metropole Hotel.

Brighton is set to gain an unfettered view of the Olympics this summer as continuous coverage of the games will be broadcast on a giant outdoor screen on the seafront from 27 July to 12 August 2012. Murray Media is behind the bid to bring the largest, free, outdoor cinema on the south coast to the city.  A public area, holding up to 3,500 people, will offer a grandstand view of the games with the atmosphere of a live crowd. There will also be a fully licensed refreshment area. The 100 square ft LED screen will be situated on the lower promenade next to the West Pier.  Coverage of the Olympics' main sporting events will be shown during the day and a selection of blockbuster movies, comedy and music events will be screened during the evening.
