Kicking off on 27 July until 12 August big screens at BT London
Live Hyde Park will show live BBC coverage of the Olympic
Games. The
Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert takes place on 27 July and
there'll be free performances on selected days by acts including
Sir Tom Jones, Dodgy and Alexandra Burke.
2. London #2
The
Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert on 12 August will be
ticketed, with tickets available at www.btlondonlive.com. Plus,
chocolate lovers will be able to enjoy chocolate tastings, take
part in virtual games and win chocolate medals at Cadbury
House.
3. Edinburgh
There are a whole host of Olympic 2012 events being
shown on Scotland's only Live Site, the BBC Big
Screen in Edinburgh's Festival Square, over the next few weeks.
Accompanying this are many sports taster sessions on the
astro-turf. Cadbury will also be on hand in its role as official
treat provider to the Games, with more activities and treats for
those who take part. The coverage will include a fly past of the Red Arrows over Edinburgh,
to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday
(July 27).
4. Birmingham
The BBC Big Screens in Birmingham's Victoria Square have been
transformed into a Live Site with seating, bunting and marquees -
making them the place to go to gather together and watch live
coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Pre-show
coverage of 2012 Olympic opening ceremony starts at
8pm. Opening
ceremony broadcast starts at 9pm with the broadcast end taking
place at midnight.
5. Brighton
Brighton's Big Screen will be bringing a 100 square ft LED
screen to the seafront from 27 July to 12 August 2012 from 10am -
10pm, to broadcast live coverage of the Games plus a selection of
free blockbuster movies. The audience will also be able to take
advantage of the fully licensed beach bar with sheltered and
outdoor seating to enjoy the best action from the Games and over 20
FREE movies from 'Dusk till Dawn'.
Opening Ceremony: Brighton's Big Screen organisers Murray Media
and BohoGreen will be hosting a free launch party on the 27 July
from 7pm, bringing the excitement of the Games to their very own
London by the Sea, where the opening ceremony will be broadcast
live on Brighton & Hove seafront, next to the West Pier,
opposite the Metropole Hotel.
Brighton is set to gain an unfettered view of the Olympics this
summer as continuous coverage of the games will be broadcast on a
giant outdoor screen on the seafront from 27 July to 12 August
2012. Murray Media is
behind the bid to bring the largest, free, outdoor cinema on the
south coast to the city. A public area, holding up to 3,500
people, will offer a grandstand view of the games with the
atmosphere of a live crowd. There will also be a fully licensed
refreshment area. The 100 square ft LED screen will be situated on
the lower promenade next to the West Pier. Coverage of the
Olympics' main sporting events will be shown during the day and a
selection of blockbuster movies, comedy and music events will be
screened during the evening.
