The fashion world is full of icons; Rihanna, Kate Moss and Sarah
Jessica Parker, just to name a few. But what about lesbian and
bi-sexual women, what influence have they had on the fashion world?
Well, here at DIVA we have had a little think and come up with a
list of the top 10 lesbian and bi style icons that we admire.
1. Jessie J
From sexy to outrageous, Jessie J is a woman who knows how to
stand out from the crowd. The singer and judge forThe Voicecan
normally be seen spotted wearing embellished cat suits, patterned
tights or leggings and a bright bold lipstick. We aren't entirely
sure that we could pull of her cat suit look but we'll definitely
be keeping an eye out for her ever evolving style.
2. Mary Portas
Retail and fashion guru extraordinaire, Mary Portas ticks all
our fashion boxes with her own clothing line. And with her 'Kinky
Knickers' range, she's one fashionista who knows how to make a
woman look and feel amazing.
3. Joan Jett
Rock goddess Joan Jett made her first fashion statement back in
the 70's, but this hasn't stopped many fans or the fashion industry
from being influenced by her 'glam-Goth', punk look.
4. Cynthia Nixon
Known for her role as Miranda from Sex and the City, Cynthia
Nixon can always pull off glamorous eveningwear. With designers all
around the world wanting to dress her, lots of us are seriously
envious of her wardrobe.
5. Sam Ronson
DJ and Lindsay Lohan's ex, Sam Ronson is a lesbian woman who
doesn't really make a fuss when it comes to what she wears and
that's why we admire her style. The DJ is usually spotted wearing
vintage style T-shirts, black leggings, Rayban sunglasses and a
pair of hi-tops.
6. Beth Ditto
A DIVA favourite, Beth Ditto has never been one to shy away from
the cameras and has always known how to cross fashion's boundaries.
We should all gain some inspiration from the singer and fashion
designer, who shows that fashion can fit any size and body
shape.
7. Heather Peace
We shan't forget about the stunning Heather Peace, her laid back
look on and off the set of Lip Service makes her a lesbian that we
would love to go clothes shopping with.
8. Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres paved the way for her lesbian chic look during
the late 90's. Ellen can normally be spotted wearing masculine
style suits, crisp white shirts, figure hugging jumpers and a pair
of sleek black trainers.
9. Lisbeth Salander
Yes, she is a fictional character from the series of 'The Girl
with the Dragon Tattoo' by Steig Larsson, but Lisbeth Salander's
dragon tattoo, numerous piercings, and her nonchalant care about
what she wears makes her one incredibly sexy fashion
icon.
10. Ruby Rose
Australian presenter, Ruby Rose has got it all, a glowing tan,
some incredibly hot tattoos and bleached blonde wavy hair. Need I
say more?
