Barely a day goes by when I don't lunge for my phone/camera in a
vain attempt to capture - once and for all - my furry, four-footed
lodger's unique personal charm.
Like most pet-owners, my computer hard drive, memory card and
Facebook page are clogged with snaps of my fluffy tuna-fiend,
usually staring accusingly at me as I steal her soul for the
mumpteenth time.
Now gay-friendly holiday company Unique Home Stays has teamed up
with Cornwall-based artist Caroline Rousseaux to offer pet-owners
the chance to win a arresting portrait of their furry friend.
(Check out Caroline's portrait of "Chomsky", right. I feel like
I know that critter, just from contemplating his picture. I'm even
picking up the faint whiff of Iams.)
Caroline, who received huge acclaim from critics and public
alike for her 2009 exhibition
Pawtraits recently launched the Children's ArT Studio (CATS, of
course!) - an artistic hub where kids are encouraged to get
creative while learning about environmental issues - including the
conservation of endangered native wildcats.
All you need to do to be in with a chance to see Tiddles
immortalized on canvas is to "like" the Unique Homestays
Facebook page and post a photo of her on their Facebook wall.
(Providing useful overspill from your own fur-clogged Facebook
territory. Nice of them, right?) Then (touch of genius this - we
all know our cat is the most cutestest, right?) be sure to
encourage all your friends, relatives, work mates and former
primary school colleagues to vote for your picture by "liking" the
photo. The most "liked" photo bags the prize, so "encourage" for
all you're worth. Kitty's worth it. Or puppykins, or whomever.
You will need to remain a fan of Unique Home Stays throughout
the competition period in order to be eligible - and don't forget
to subscribe to Unique Home Stays newsletter to find out if you
won!

And now... let the Battle Of The Cutest
begin!
