Lisa Chaney, the writer of Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life,
presents newly discovered letters and documents which claim to give
insight into Chanel's sexuality.
Penguin, the book's publisher, stated on their website: "Drawing
on newly discovered love letters, police records, and interviews,
Lisa Chaney reveals the truth about Chanel's drug habit and lesbian
affairs.
"Her numerous liaisons, whose most poignant details have eluded
all previous biographers, were the stuff of legend."
Further claims in the biography include the fashion icon's use of
opiates and her love affair with an alleged Nazi spy during
WWII.
WWD Fashion News report that Chaney gives 'concrete evidence that
the designer used drugs, embraced bisexuality and had an affair
with Salvador DalĂ while he was married.'
The book is due to be published on 31 October, this year.
