The competition is designed to encourage interaction between the
celebration's directors and the wider community, making it
fully-representative.
Themes for previous Pride London parades have ranged from 'Come
Out and Play' to last year's 'Carnival of Love'.
Generaly, the theme is used to inspire the floats and groups
taking part in the parade and give them a visual idea to unite
behind. The winner will see the world uniting under their idea and
earn themselves a place in the parade.
Pride London Chairman Paul Birrell said: "We're expecting
hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world to join
us next July so we want to show them what Pride means in
London. The parade is going to bigger and bolder than ever
before and we want the LGBT community to be marching to a theme
that means something to them.
"We're looking for a theme that not only gives the groups taking
part a great visual idea to inspire their costumes, but also shows
the world what it means to be able to march in safety without fear
of violence or persecution."
WorldPride is hosted by a different city every time it takes place
to give the global LGBT community a chance to come together to
celebrate the progress that has been made in achieving equality,
and to give those who can't march safely in their own country a
secure environment in which to do so.
To nominate your theme for the WorldPride parade just send
an email to: theme@pridelondon.org with your theme idea and no more

WorldPride will be taking place in Trafalgar Square and Soho on
