Lesbian character Sophie Webster will cheat on
girlfriend Sian Powers, in a plot that sees her kiss shopkeeper Dev
Alahan's bisexual daughter Amber Kalirai.
The storyline will begin on a night out, while Sian is on
holiday, where the pair share a kiss after Amber spikes Sophie's
drink with gin. Tipsy Sophie's first reaction is to pull away, but
the pair soon kiss passionately.
Guilt-ridden Sophie will then ask Sian to marry her in a
Christmas ceremony but as the day draws closer she will realise her
feelings for Amber and dramatically call off the
ceremony.
A Corrie insider told The Sun: "Sophie will be split about Sian
and Amber - but it will be her feelings for Amber that will win the
day.
"Sian will be devastated and will end up leaving Weatherfield
for good."
It was revealed earlier this year that former DIVA cover
star Sasha Parkinson, who plays Sian Powers, would be leaving the
soap with her last scenes to be aired in early 2012.
