The editor of leading lesbian magazine DIVA, Jane Czyzselska,
has been confirmed as a judge in the forthcoming National Diversity
Awards.
Big Brother presenter Brian Dowling will host the event at
Manchester's Midland Hotel on 21 September.
The prestigious black tie event will celebrate excellent
achievements of grass-root communities that tackle the issues in
today's society, giving them recognition for their dedication and
hard work that positive role models, charities and community
organisations do on a daily basis.
In preparation, organisers have devised a Facebook application
which allows people to vote for nominees or suggest new ones.
Brian Dowling said: "I am privileged to be hosting The National
Diversity Awards and to be given the chance to witness so many
positive role models and charities across the nation being rewarded
for their efforts.
"I feel honoured to be representing an awards ceremony that is
recognising diversity at so many levels. It is very exciting to be
involved with such an event and to think what prospects the awards
will bring to the UK."
Paul Sesay, Chief Executive of The Diversity Group, said: "It is a
delight to have Brian on board. He represents all that is good
about positive role models and diversity, we could not think of a
better person to host the awards, it is a thrill to have him
support and be part of the event."
The Awards are designed to showcase the efforts of those who have
demonstrated an outstanding devotion to enhancing equality,
diversity and inclusion within today's society.
