Lesbian DJ and media personality
Samantha Ronson it to release a debut album of her own music,
according to reports.
According to She Wired, Ronson - sister of Mark - spent almost a
decade chronicling her own life experiences to form the album's
concept.
They also report that Ronson has enlisted a number of celebrity
musicians to contribute to the project, which will mark the DJ's
recording debut.
Guitarist Slash will reportedly appear on a track entitled Love
Song, while Mark Ronson is said to have co-produced party track
Skyscrapers.
Rapper Whale is also reported to be involved.
"I began to DJ mainly so I could pay for my band, then I got
really busy DJing and didn't have time [for making music]," she
told She Wired.
Explaining the album's title, she said: "It's about chasing
after something you're never going to get. Whatever your thing that
you're chasing is, is what the red is."
