One of the stars of ITV soap Emmerdale has said she wants her
character to indulge in a lesbian night of passion.
Charlie Hardwick, who plays Val Pollard in the Yorkshire-based
show, made the comments in an interview with Inside Soap
magazine.
The actress - who is currently taking a three month break from
the show to star in a play - says she wants to return with a
bang.
"Wouldn't it be good if Val had a one night stand with a woman?
That'd definitely put the cat amongst the pigeons!" she said.
Hardwick's temporary departure has been explained in the show by
Val moving to Portugal to escape from her on-screen husband, played
by Chris Chittel (pictured with Hardwick).
But she explained that she actually enjoys her scenes with the
veteran star and would hate their alter-egos to separate.
"It may be good for the storyline, and more dramatic, but on a
personal level I'd be gutted if they split! I love acting with
Chris Chittel, so I'd really hate to see someone else working with
him.
"I've seen Brenda sniffing round Pollard, so she'd better not
try getting her claws into him while Val's away, or I'll be flaming
furious!"
