Britain's biggest lesbian musical festival has been described as a success by its organisers – despite headline act Uh Huh Her failing to show.

The female duo - who are made up of Camila Grey and former L Word actress Leisha Hailey - were due to play at the Kent event last Saturday.

Having recently graced the cover of DIVA magazine they were considered one of the main draws for attendees, before cancelling at the eleventh hour.

Blaming poor health, they released a statement saying: "Due to unforeseen circumstances and illness, UH HUH HER will not be able to perform at GOGO Festival. The band was looking forward to returning to the UK to play songs from their new EP Black and Blue".

"UH HUH HER offer their sincerest apologies to the fans and look forward to returning to the UK for future shows."

The cancellation sparked rumours that ticket sales slumped as a consequence - resulting in low attendance.

But festival organisers today told DIVA that 2,500 people attended the event over the weekend and that overall feedback had been "excellent".

They also quashed rumours that Big Brother's Shabby had been ejected from the venue - the Headcorn Aerodrome - insisting that the former reality show contestant had "left of her own accord".
