A sci-fi film about two women who fall in love in a futuristic
world is nearing completion in Hollywood - but needs additional
financing from fans.
The project, entitled Strange Frame, is an animated feature and
is scheduled for release in 2012.
Although an independent film, it boasts an impressive cast.
Actors include: Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ferngully),
Claudia Black (Stargate SG1, Farscape), George Takei (Star Trek,
Heroes), Michael Dorn (Star Trek, Transformers), Ron Glass (Barney
Mille r, Firefly, Serenity), Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Serenity,
Transformers), Juliet Landau (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ed Wood)
and Claudia Christian (Babylon5).
Academy Award winner Gary Rizzo (Inception, Titanic, Star Wars,
Dark Knight, and The Incredibles) is mixing the sound for the film
at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch in America.
However, despite such celebrity endorsement, the film's
producers have announced that they need additional money to
complete it.
According to an online funding platform for creative projects,
Kickstarter, they have written:
"Help us frame the beauty of the strange! We've almost finished
the movie, but we need a little more money for some new animation,
to bring the actors back in for a couple more scenes and go back to
Skywalker Sound for the final mix.
"We're offering some very exclusive perks to you all and hope
you will join us on this journey."
These include exclusive content and merchandise, including hats
T-shirts and posters.
Currently, 87 backers have pledged $4,848 of the $50,000
needed.
At the time of this story going live, there are thirty-three
days remaining to raise the funds.
