Singer/songwriter Madonna has confessed that she once kissed
fellow female performer Nicki Minaj.
The 53 year-old, who releases her eagerly anticipated new single
this month, made the admission to television presenter Anderson
Cooper during his talk show.
In the interview, which will be aired tomorrow, Madonna admitted
that the kiss took place after "a few sips of champagne".
"It was her birthday and it was actually the end of one of those
long days of shooting and we were all giving a birthday toast to
her. After a few sips of champagne I kissed her," she said.
In response, Cooper joked: "I've got a bunch of people in the
audience that are whispering to me that it's their birthday as
well."
The timing of the vignette couldn't have been more immaculate -
the pair collaborated on Madonna's forthcoming single Give Me All
Your Luvin, which is released on 3 February.
The track also features M.I.A.
Speaking about the collaboration, she said: "I'm a fan of their
music but also I like their independence, their spirit. They're
cheeky and unique and they have individual voices. And they're not
conventional pop stars and I really admire them both."
She added: "I love both of them actually".
A short, 12-second clip for the song was premiered during a recent
broadcast of American Idol.
