Twenty-three year-old Murat Durmus, from Walthamstow, was alleged to have sexually assaulted the passenger near Tower Bridge earlier this year.

He always denied the charges and claimed the sex was consensual.

Now, a jury at the Old Bailey has unanimously ruled in his favour.

The plaintiff - a doctor - said she had finished a night shift in a hospital A&E before drinking eight double Bacardis and a shot of sambuca in a central London nightclub.

The court was told that Durmus taxied the woman and her friend across the city afterwards.

"Things got a bit hazy," she said. "I honestly don't remember how it all started."

The plaintiff's lawyer, Lisa Matthews, said her client was not out to her family prior to making the allegations.
