Due to be shown on screens from tomorrow, the advert features lesbian couple Alex and Emma telling viewers the key ingredients to their long-lasting relationship.

But a surprised Alex is interrupted by Emma, who insists one of the main reasons is K-Y Intense, the brand's gel which it claims "makes sex more satisfying".

After some brief fireworks, the cameras cut to the couple tucked up in bed, with Alex admitting that the gel, aimed specifically to women, "is a good purchase". The advert closes with the slogan "make that big moment even bigger"

A spokesman for K-Y Brand said: "Since 1998, [KY-Brand] has sponsored dozens of LBGT and HIV/AIDS organisations and has also participated at LGBT Pride celebrations and other community events.

"Gay male couples have been featured in print advertising since 2008 and now the brand is continuing its tradition of support and visibility with advertising that is inclusive of lesbian couples."
