The result follows today's online poll, which aimed to show the
level of support amongst the community.
At the time of this story going live, 56 per cent of DIVA
readers said they will vote in favour of the referendum - something
which, if successful, will change how MPs are selected.
This result, however, is not representative of the wider
consensus. In fact, most national predictions suggest the AV will
not win the ballot box battle.
This might explain why a considerable number of DIVA readers -
29 per cent - claim they will vote in support of David Cameron's No
to AV campaign.
Yet, despite mass media coverage and pleas from both the Prime
Minister and Nick Clegg, 15 per cent of our audience claim they
won't vote either way.
Today is the first nationwide referendum for 36 years.
Our results come just five hours before polling stations across
the country will close.
