This year's Big Weekend at Manchester Pride will celebrate all
things Blighty, with a performance from one of Britain's most
successful pop groups, Steps.
The Big Weekend, which runs from Friday 24-Monday 27 August, also
features performances from X Factor finalists Amelia Lily and Two
Shoes.
Manchester has celebrated pride for over 21 years, and will this
year be celebrating a 'Queer'd Science' theme in the big parade
through the city on the Saturday.
In the week running up to the Big Weekend, Manchester Pride will
host its fringe festival in the city which includes the annual LGBT
family fun day at Sackville Gardens on Saturday 18 August and new
monologues being showcased by DIVA favourites Stella Duffy, Jackie
Kay and Neil Bartlett. Also on the menu is sport, entertainment and
information about fostering and adopting.
For dog-lovers, there's a chance to enter your pet pooch in the
Manchester and Cheshire Dog's Home 'Pink Dog Show', to see if your
canine can make 'most handsome butch' or 'prettiest bitch' on
Sunday 19 August.
This promises to be a fun-filled family day with doggy dancing and
celebrity judges.
