After five years of postponements, the trial of the nine men accused of murdering lesbian Zoliswa Nkonyana was delayed again in March. Nkonyana, 19, was stabbed to death in Cape Town after refusing to use a male toilet. She was allegedly murdered because of her sexuality.

The nine defendants, who all pleaded not guilty, had their trial postponed over 30 times since the incident in February 2006. Four of the nine suspects were eventually found guilty in October.

In the U.S., a woman arrested for trespassing on Ellen Degeneres' property was ordered to stay away from the comedian (pictured) and her partner, Portia De Rossi.

Karen Grace Sjoden, 49 - who was arrested on St.Valentine's day before being released on $200,000 bail - was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor trespassing.

Here, a UK court heard how a female teacher seduced a teenage girl in her care, despite claiming to be heterosexual. 38 year-old Caroline French was accused of grooming the girl - who was not named - with text messages, personal emails and social visits which later turned sexual. French was eventually found guilty after a trial at Preston Crown Court and sentenced to three years in jail.
