The station, otherwise known as the National Broadcasting Company, has picked up a half-hour pilot called I Hate That I Love You, which focuses around a lesbian couple.

According to AfterEllen.com, the romantic comedy is the brainchild of Jhoni Marchenko - the writer, producer and Emmy recipient for Will & Grace, which was considered a latter-day breakthrough for American television.

The show is said to feature a pregnancy as part of the pair's relationship.

The news follows other recent reports which suggest that NBC will also commission a second lesbian-themed show tentatively called My Best Friend Is A Lesbo.

This will apparently focus on two female friends, one of which is a lesbian, both aiming to help each other through "life, love, and dating," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
