The Other Guide, which launched on 7 May
and has recently overcome some technical issues, carries details
for clubs and bars, social and support groups, accommodation,
restaurants and much more.
Kathryn Loftus, editor and director of The Other
Guide, said: "The Other Guide aims to be a
one-stop, comprehensive resource providing Yorkshire's lesbian,
bisexual and trans women with a wide range of up-to-date
information on social activities, support networks and
events."
Explaining the Guide's
name, she said: T"he word 'Other' aims to reclaim our difference
and to highlight that lesbian, bisexual and trans women have far
too often been referred to as something 'other' than the norm in
society."
The team behind the
Other Guide will be holding stalls at Pride
2012 events around the region including Bradford Pride on Saturday
26th May, Calderdale Pride on Saturday 16th June, Huddersfield Pink
Picnic on Sunday 22nd July and Leeds Pride on Sunday 5th
August.
