Almost 20 per cent of same-sex couples are listed as adoptive
parents for 2009, which has jumped from 8 per cent in 2000.
Sources are crediting the Obama administration for the increase,
despite unequal marriage law across America. Others are saying its
a symptom of increased tolerance regarding homosexuality.
Meanwhile, the UK has seen a similar increase.
Currently, one in twenty adopted children are being placed with
gay families - and some parts of the country have witnessed an
increase of fifty per cent.
The British city with the highest rate of gay couples adopting is
Brighton, shortly followed by Manchester.
