A new book on pop star Jessie J claims that she was advised to conceal her attraction to women.

The unofficial new publication, entitled Jessie J: Who's Laughing Now, says that Domino singer was asked by record bosses to declare herself as bisexual, rather than gay.

The biography, written by Chloe Govan, claims she has deceived fans and is actually homosexual - not bisexual.

According to the Daily Mail, Govan writes that Jessie went along with the charade because she was scared of losing her record contract with Universal.

Universal have not responded to the allegations, which are unconfirmed.

Govan said: "Jessie might have been with boys in the past - but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn't hide it.

"She was advised not to come out, though. Certain people thought being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement. It would increase her allure."

She added: "There are so many homophobes out and there were fears of a career-damaging backlash."
