The Big Gay 10K is fast approaching, and DIVA needs you lovely ladies to get involved.

Whether you walk, run or skip, it doesn't matter. People of all abilities can come and join the DIVA team on Sunday 30 September as we make our way round the Big Gay 10K to support two worthy LGBT charities.

The money raised will go towards LGBT charity London Friend, which celebrates its 40th year this year. Funds will also support PACE, which works towards promoting the health and wellbeing of the LGBT community.

Registration is free, and participants are encouraged to set up a JustGiving account to gather sponsorship from family and friends.

The day starts at 11am, with a warm-up at midday ready to hit the fantastic route around London. The route is fully accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Starting at the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, the route follows the Albert Embankment towards the historic Lambeth Palace (where lots of men in dresses hang out). As you make your way round, you will pass some of London's most famous landmarks, including the London Eye, the Jubilee Gardens and London Bridge.

Once we arrive at the Houses of Parliament, you can join in with DIVA's all-girl kiss-in. Grab your lady for a bit of a mid-run PDA, why not?

The route will then take us past Tate Britain before arriving at Vauxhall Bridge. Then you're done, and it's just a short walk to the bar/cake stand, where you'll find a place to lie down and recover so you are ready to enjoy the delights of the Big Gay Village Fete in the afternoon.

These delights include a drag tarot reader, a coconut shy and ring toss with a difference, plus cream tea complete with lesbian jam. (We're intrigued.) Yes, the Big Gay Village Fete has it all.

It will be open for business from midday, when we will all be running (or maybe walking) through London. From 1.30pm there will be performances from comedienne Zoe Lyons, singer/songwriter Laura Catlow, and 'feminist one-man band' Ste McCabe, to name but a few.

So what are you waiting for? It promises to be a fun-filled day, and it's all for charity. And, you might even get a smooch outside Parliament. Bonus! Team DIVA can't wait to see you all on the day!
