A lesbian couple, dubbed Thelma and Louise by police, have
been arrested after burgling 29 homes in Pennsylvania
Harley Rose Gifford and Britney Singleton, both 19, are
accused of stealing iPods, jewellery and money since July this
year.
The couple even claim that they came into contact with a
lion in one of the homes they broke in to.
However, police are unable to verify the claim as nobody
was at the house in question when police went to
investigate.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told
the Philadelphia Inquirer: "If we find a lion it will be a bigger
story than this."
The couple looted homes and left them ransacked in broad
daylight, often taking home their loot on public
transport.
Chitwood said: "They just enjoyed stealing, they used
people's homes as their own private shopping centre."
The couple allegedly stole jewellery, iPods, toys,
toiletries, trainers, make-up, purses and other household items, as
well as around $23,000 in cash.
