The news comes just 24 months after the murder of a counselor and teenage girl at Tel Aviv's Bar Noar gay centre (pictured).

As reported by DIVA at the time, both Nir Katz and 16-year-old Liz Trubishi were killed in the as-yet-unsolved attack.

Now, the youth club might have to suspend its weekly evening programming due to financial problems. According to website Haaretz, management says it's deliberating whether to hold a final evening of group support and activities today.

Since the shooting, a security guard has been stationed at the building during events, the site adds. Despite this, it has still suffered vandalism - including damage to an air-conditioning unit.

Now, the facility's director, Shaul Ganon, says the center needs NIS 1,200 a month to continue offering a support network to local gay, lesbian and bisexual youths.

It currently receives no external or governmental funding and is reliant entirely on funds raised by staff.
