Tracy Morgan, star of US series 30 Rock, has been parodied in
the latest season of the show - months after offending members of
the gay community.
During a performance in the US Ryman Theatre, Nashville, last
summer, the comedian said that if his son was gay he would "pull
out a knife and stab that little nigger to death."
One audience member, identified as Kevin Rogers, wrote about the
show on social networking site Facebook, saying: "Tracy said he
didn't fucking care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can
take a [expletive] dick up their ass... they can take a [expletive]
joke.
According to Rogers, Morgan continued his homophobic rant saying
Barack Obama needed to 'man up' and stop speaking out for gay
rights.
A number of attendees are said to have walked out of the
auditorium in disgust.
So, in an apparent bid to teach him a lesson, 30 Rock creator Tina
Fey has made art imitate real life.
On the recent episode, Morgan's character sparks a protest after
making gay-themed jokes at a stand-up gig.
Jordan's boss, played by series star Fey, is forced to apologise
on his behalf.
"He's not capable of hate," she tells the media. "He's just an
idiot who doesn't know what he's saying."
Following the real-life incident in Nashville, Tracy Morgan
issued a formal apology after Fey implied such a response was
essential.
He has since visited U.S high schools to preach tolerance of
homosexuality.
