Amanda Booker claims officers in Georgia took her to a pair of gay
conversion therapists at a cost of $600. She's now suing them for
violating her constitutional rights.
According to the Daily Mail, the incident happened in April 2010,
after Booker's family asked police to commit her to a psychiatric
hospital because of her drug addiction.
She claims officers ignored her father's request to take her to
the local hospital and - instead - forced her to live with
evangelical Christians Chris and Donna McDowell, who tried to turn
her straight.
Sheriff Clark Milsap denies all allegations and actually laughed
when confronted by local newspaper the GA Voice.
He told them: "I haven't been served (with papers). But, no ma'am,
that is the most absurd thing I've ever heard in my life."
Booker remains in custody on a separate incident of damaging a
police car.
