During our recent interview with former Scissor Sisters singer
Ana Matronic, DIVA spoke to the eloquent American on a number of
different topics. One of these was Amnesty International's Write
For Rights campaign, which is calling on the public to support
someone "wrongly imprisoned, or at risk of harassment and
intimidation for carrying out human rights work."
Ana's chosen activist is Noxolo Nogwaza, a South African lesbian
and human rights defender, who was murdered in 2011. Amnesty
believes that Nogwaza was murdered because of her sexual
orientation, in a far from isolated case of violence against
lesbians in South Africa.
