The philanthropic move marks the annual Pride London celebration, which will take place in the capital on 2 July.

Speaking to DIVA, Whole Foods employee Derrie Shurville said: "Whole Foods Market believes in supporting the communities we serve. We strive to benefit a large number of organisations, which are as varied as the communities themselves. Our team members are part of the local community. They are passionate about supporting local causes that are important to our shoppers and neighbours.

"After making contact with Stonewall we decided that we wanted them to be part of our community giving day by donating 5% of our takings to them."

She added: "Many of the staff here at Soho support the LGBT cause and so for them it's also promoting team happiness. Everyone here is excited about being more involved in Pride this year and we shall all be wearing our Stonewall T-Shirts and flying the Pride flags outside to show our support!

"The more customers that come into Whole Foods Soho on Pride Day, the more money Stonewall will receive."
