DVD: Skins - Season Four

Series Four of Skins brings us up-to-date with the mischievous goings on of the terrible teens in a season that brings us death, depression and, oh yeah, a bit of fun!

Everything is ‘ok’ at the beginning of the series, according to the gang… but this is Skins, so of course, in reality, its not.

Kicking off with a death of an unknown girl, we’re plunged straight in to the drama of a whodunit mystery that sees Cook and Naomi acting a little strange.

Naomi’s lies set Emily off on an investigative trail to get to the bottom of it and what she finds is much worse than expected.

Meanwhile, Emily’s dad gives a shock announcement; they’re bankrupt. This sends the family into disarray, leaving Katie, who has some sad news, out in the cold with no one to turn to.

Freddie and Effy have become inseparable and insufferable, spending all day taking drugs and having sex, which sees Freddie fall out of college leaving him with a difficult choice to make whilst Effy takes a turn for the worse.

Cook’s also in a bad way, ending up behind bars for getting in a fight. But, in true Skins fashion, he shrugs off the electronic tag and ends up living life on the run going from friend's house to friend's house.

JJ finally finds love with a work-mate who’s keeping a massive secret from him and Pandora and Thomas fight to get their relationship back on track.

As the series draws to end, we have to say an abrupt goodbye to one member of the gang as we learn the destiny of the others. Some are off to Harvard (random, I know), some are going traveling and others must contemplate life without each other.

Before you say a final goodbye, be sure to check out the extras. There are more bonus stories and behind the scenes footage plus an exclusive animated feature to keep you occupied as it could be a long wait until we meet the third generation of Skins characters.
